We had a baby shower at this restaurant with 12-15 people. No one else was eating in the place and the GM came out to the entire table asking us to move tables for another reservation. Worst thing I've ever seen. Won't ever come back.

This restaurant was such a wonderful surprise! I had not been in a Macaroni Grill in over ten years (and it wasn't this one). We decided to try it, because we had heard great things about it. This location was excellent. Although they were busy, we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server provided just the right amount of attention and offered very appropriate suggestions. The food was cook to perfection and everything tasted fantastic. The managers here provide such a level of service and visibility that you would think they own the company... it's was fantastic. We'll be back many more times!!

Get the Gluten free pasta. I had the sausage and olive oil. All was good. Ended up eating in the bar area. they were busy and we only had about a hour. I will be back. The service was good and so was the food.

We've been to this restaurant many times, and they are always less than half full. Service is usually excellent, and the red sauces are fantastic! Not too acidic, very light. Many of the dishes have creamy sauces, which I don't eat, but there are lighter menu options as well. The Caesar salad is delicious, and they have very affordable wine specials.

We came here for a friends birthday and it was the first time we had been. The atmosphere is really great. It does kind of remind me Olive Garden but a little more intimate. The food was pretty good. We opted to do the make your own pasta portion of the menu. I really enjoyed the dessert as well. I would come back to try more things on the menu.

OMG- I wish I could eat creamy, calorie, fat filled Macaroni Grill pasta dishes every day and not gain 100lbs! Normally not a fan of chains (that's why it's not 5 stars), I love there food. The bread and oil is so good and I've never been disappointed with a dish. My favorites are the Penne Rustica, Warm Spinach Salad and Salmon w/ orzo pasta.

I'm a little confused as to how this place only had three stars, all the reviews talk about bad service but my visit here yesterday proved that their service must have improved since then because they were all very efficient, friendly and helpful. Soon as I walked in, the hostess asked me what I would be interested in, the 7 minute $7 lunch or anything off the menu. I told her I was eyeing the mushroom ravioli after looking at the menu, and she went on to tell me how that's a favorite for many vegetarians and nonvegetarians. After I was seated, my waitress Fiona came with Bread, and then I ordered the mushroom ravioli. She asked if I wanted a small salad with it, and I told her I would have the caesar if there were no anchovies in the dressing, so she went to the back to find out for me. After she confirmed it, she brought my salad right away. The bread and salad was delicious! As soon as my ravioli came in, I can smell the amazing marsala sauce and I was just excited to eat the whole thing up. The first bite was like entering pasta heaven, it was AMAZING! After I was done eating, Fiona came and asked me if I enjoyed it, and then we briefly talked about other vegetarian dishes on the menu. She highly recommended eggplant Parmesan, and I told her that next time I came in that I would get that! Aside from the food and the service, the setting of this place is romantic, and I dig it. There are booths, and tables, and the lighting here is very low to add to their romance vibe..! Romano's you're a 5 in my book!

Food is delicious and as expected as always. When we came there was a big party in the large dining area, but our service was great. We didn't have to wait to be seated and our server was quick and the food also came out quickly. Nothing more to say except, thanks for being normal on a busy day!

I'm definitely not one to ever write a bad review unless completely necessary . I am a business owner in the service industry from San Francisco, so I feel as if I am a fair critic in the business of customer service... My parents have been regulars of macaroni grille for at last 10 Years, or whenever this location opened.. I have been dragged there countless times on every visit ... If my father likes something he prefers to stick with something he can count on every time. But tonight was different. We start the night off with a fantastic bottle of Brunello (Barbi $75) followed by some tasty apps... Macaroni balls and prosciutto mozzarella wraps...yummy! Then we put in our order for entrees and something from the kids menu for my 5 year old nephew..after drinking the entire bottle of wine and 4 bottles of sparkling water we look at our watches to realize Kim our waitress had not checked on us in 45 minutes!!! My very patient, but extremely restless and starving 5 year old is chanting "pizza please pizza please" she did nothing. When we asked Kim what is going on... She said the kitchen is slow... We were politely annoyed and she said she told the manager and he will take off 2 salads off the bill...wow thanks a lot... Ummmm can we have our food please ??? The manager comes by.. Very gracious and apologizes for the delay... Explains there was a group that came in and this slowed the kitchen.. He will take he salads and apps off the bill... Okay... Great ... Thanks... Please feed us....BUT we are thirsty... Please manager man, can we have another glass of wine with dinner???? So he gives us a glass of the house wine but puts a 1 1-2 liter bottle of chianti house wine on the table... We have a few bites, but ready to leave... Kim comes back and we stupidly attempt to order dessert... Two scoops of gelato and one piece of cake...we thought it would be simple enough... After waiting for 25 minutes , we decide to leave... We ask for the bill and tell Kim to cancel the desserts because we can't wait. She then brings us a "to go" bag for the wine... My father tells her only orders a glass each.... But she argues that her "manager" said we wanted the bottle so here is a bag to take... Meaning... You are now going to pay for something you didn't order on top of the worst service ever! My father is so angered, and doesn't want to argue anymore. Signs the bill.... And then notices she charged is for the desserts that never came and of course this ridiculous bottle of gut wrenching Chianti that we take in a Doggie bag. End of story... Will never go back... Lost customers of 15 years...

Terrible service. Ordered curbside to go so I sat in my car waiting for someone to bring out my order. Waited 10 minutes before I finally called the restaurant, hostess proceeded to tell me I actually have to come into the bar. That is not the point of curbside to go! Went into the restaurant, waited another 10 minutes just to get someone to even look at me. Restaurant was definitely not packed yet everyone who worked there looked so frazzled. Took another 10 minutes to get my order. All in all, it was 1/2 hour after my designated pick up time before I got my food. Not coming back!

We have been to the Macaroni Grill many times. We were in the mood for some Italian yesterday so we decided to go here. First, after I parked, I noticed 2 cars park after me and take the closest spots that were not handicapped. I usually don't park in these since I am perfectly mobile and I like to save these for people that may not be, but may not have a handicapped sticker either. Anyhow, upon entering the restaurant I realized that the 2 cars belonged to employees, I have worked in plenty of restaurants and retail places, and employees have never been allowed to take the closest spots to the establishment. This made me suspicious of the management immediately. After we walked in, we did wait for maybe a minute and a half for someone to greet us. It was 5 o'clock and obviously during a shift change since employees were arriving, so this didn't really bother me. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She took our drink order and told us about the specials right away. She brought our drinks and some bread, and took our order. I make my own pasta and asked if she could bring me some red pepper flakes since I like to add a little zing to my pasta. She brought this right away. The food came out in a timely manner and my pasta was wonderful. The chef actually came out of the kitchen during our meal and asked if everything was good. That's the first time I've had that happen at a Macaroni Grill. At the end of our meal, our waitress brought the dessert menu which did look good - but we passed. All in all, it was a good experience. I may have given it 5 starts except for the employee parking issue. I know that seems like a small thing, but it just makes me concerned that management is not concerned with customer service as much as they should be, even though we did not experience any problems. We will go back.

While I am a fan of Macaroni grille in general, and have friends who work for the company and do a fantastic job, I am NOT a fan of the Auburn Hills location. A while back a friend and I decided to visit this establishment for lunch. Since we both go to school in the area and know we like the food it was a quick and convenient stop for both of us. We came in during a lull period and decided to sit in the bar area, which had a few customers, as opposed to the empty main floor. Service had never been a problem in the past yet on this particular day it was downright abysmal. It took our waiter so long to come to our table that my friend and I literally began to notice and get irritated with the lag. Not only that but he brought no notepad of any kind for taking our order and his sluggishness became so ridiculous that we started to joke about possibly not getting to eat at all. We ordered an appetizer, our entrees and some drinks all of which took an exceedingly long time to arrive. Even the bread, which is customary, took a while. When our appetizer finally did arrive we had to watch as the woman serving it took it to the wrong table and then, instead of bringing it to us as would be the next logical step, took it to our waiter before finally tossing the plate down and huffing away without so much as a word. Our waiter eventually came back to "double-check" my friends order which he, as my friend said he would, got wrong due to not writing anything down. By this point the entire experience had become a joking matter between the two of us. When our food did arrive at long last we were itching to get out of there, I even asked for a box right away and was essentially told I couldn't have one then and that we would "get to that when the time came." Before we left, which literally could not happen fast enough, we heard our waiter complaining to one of the other patrons that he was overworked and didn't like having to man the bar as well as serve despite the fact that there were hardly any customers at the time. There was a group of guys at the table behind us when we got there who were still there, waiting to be served no doubt, as we left and might still be there today. I will never go back to this particular location.

Romanos is always a great choice..whether you are going on a date, or taking the family out you can never go wrong at this restaurant. The bread they bring to your table is awesome. I know I'm a bit of a baby for recommending this but just the adult size Classic Mac and cheese is to die for here..the sauce is to anyone's taste buds perfection and is always a fave. The flatbreads are great too.

Back in the day I used to REALLY like Macaroni Grill. When we lived in the Chicago suburbs we ate at Macaroni Grill quite frequently and enjoyed it. Tonight I made the mistake of choosing to dine at this location in Auburn Hills. After a long, but productive day at work I decided to workout at the hotel gym forgetting that I hadn't eaten much all day. When I finished I was extremely hungry and remembered Macaroni Grill wasn't far away, so off I went. Upon entering the restaurant I was passed by no less than three employees, none of which even acknowledged I was there. Finally one of the servers asked if I had been assisted and offered me a table. It took a while, but finally my server arrived with a bottle of water and took my drink order. Shortly thereafter he came by with bread and then the glass of wine. The bread was just good enough to take the edge off my hunger, but the quality just wasn't there. Tasted kind of like the cheap bread grocery stores sell, gummy white bread with a crumbly crust...ick. My salad came quickly as did my meal. The timing was good, but then my server disappeared. He did breeze by to check on the quality of the food which was just okay, but never offered me a second glass of wine or anything else for that matter. Just the check. I didn't arrive at the restaurant until about 8:00 PM, but it's not THAT late to get decent service. Ultimately everyone seemed very focused on getting everything done so they could leave. Kind of sad, this used to be a good restaurant.

My wife's Alfredo had big chunks of garlic in the sauce, when we asked of that was typical for an Alfredo sauce the answer was yes. She eats a lot of Alfredo dishes and has never come across those big chunks of garlic. They did not do anything to correct the situation. Will not come back. :(. Used to be a good place. Not anymore

The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, I came in with my computer to work on a few things before a meeting at school, which is across the street. The manager must frown upon this because she stated at me the entire time. My server was friendly and the food was fast.

I have been a Macaroni Grill patron all my life and I've always seen good quality meals and even better service. This review is the sum total of tens of visits as well as some recent experiences. First, I think it is worth mentioning that the food has always been high quality and delicious. I have learned to stick within their main specialties (chicken and pasta), steer clear of fish (it's okay, but not their strong suit), and try different appetizers and flatbreads from time to time. They start you off with house bread and dipping olive oil, which is probably one of my top reasons for going there. Service-wise, Macaroni Grill always does their cutesy, write their name on the table in crayon, and draw a little picture, which is a novelty, but hey, it's different. On my most recent visit for my girlfriend's birthday, she ordered the fettocini alfredo (probably the safest dish in terms of food) and later commented that it had had too much of a particular spice in it, making the taste dramatically different. We mentioned this to our waitress, emphasizing that we were NOT looking for a discount, but would still pay (my girlfriend had eaten about a quarter of it). The manager came up and apologized and took it off our bill, though we again insisted that we would pay for it. She said thank you for not making a big deal out of it, but still gave us the discount. Overall, prices are reasonable for the quality of food, but I'm definitely not rich enough to eat here more than once every couple months. It's a great place to go for big gatherings or just an intimate dinner with your significant other. (This particular MG is hardly ever crowded!)

The atmosphere of the place is great, the food, however, not so much. We only came here because of a gift card that was given to us. Appetizer: Calamari, the breading was quite greasy and falling off of the calamari, it was ok, not rubberbandy, which I hate, but ok. Entree: Husband-Pasta Di Mare, the seafood was good, the pasta...I love al dente, my husband does not, this was more than al dente, it was straight out of the box and into the bowl. I felt so bad for him hearing him crunch on his pasta. Me:Grilled Shrimp Spedini, Not enough food on the little plate. The 6 shrimp on a skewer with the half of a cut up potato and some grilled, olive oiled veggies did not fill me up. Thank god for the loaf of bread to fill the rest of the void in my belly. Oh the bill, the above with one glass of wine and a mojito...$60! and this was at lunchtime mind you..ridiculous!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Beautiful Italian music playing throughout the restaurant. There food is incredible and so delicious. The bread and oil is a must and I've never been disappointed with a dish. My favorites are the Penne Rustica, Warm Spinach Salad and Salmon w/ orzo pasta.
